He was in high spirits and set out for his work. He kept day dreaming on the way, until he reached his place of work. Soon his dreams came down crashing. As soon as he came to his workplace, someone told him that his services were not required for some days. He was fired without any notice. After all, his job was at the mercy of his boss. Not only Janardan, but there were many others sailing in the same boat as he was.
The world seemed to go blank for him. He did not know what to do. And at that very moment he decided to take an extreme step. He was only one episode away from being a villain. The poor man was cursing his own fate. “I worked so honestly and still got fired! I was paid like this, uh?”
He thought that being a virtuous man all his life would take him nowhere. Honesty would never make him live happily. So he decided to become a thief.
“But what would I steal; jewelry, money and valuables? No. I would not steal all such rubbish things.’ He said to himself. Just imagine the frustration of this man who considered jewelry, money and valuables no less than rubbish.
‘I would ‘steal’ kids and small children.’ He said to himself giving him a new ray of hope in life. ‘Yes, babies are a good option as well. Asking for huge sums of ransom will surely make me huge sums of money.’
But the very next moment, the god-fearing Janardan feared for the supernatural power. ‘These things wouldn’t ever keep me in the good books of God. Then what do I do? I will have to literally become a beggar… What a beggar? And me?’
He was pretty enraged with himself by calling a beggar. He never wanted that tag to be associated with him in life. Janardan was right. After all, he worked honestly, though with little income. He was tired of begging his entire life.
