Movie Promotions – Using Small Screens For Promotion

Promoting films on the small screen has become an order of the (film) day these days. Many renowned film stars show up on the small screen and promote the film in their own unique way. It is not only the question of showing up on the TV. But they also cater to unique ways of promotion one could have never even thought of.

When on one hand Kareena Kapoor felicitated most of the real life bodyguards of Bollywood personalities, there was Mallika Sherawat who was busy making jalebis for the promotion of just a song – the famous “Jalebi bai” for

the film Double Dhamaal. And you know what Ranbir Kapoor was doing? RK milked cows to promote his film Rockstar – well what a star Ranbir!

The film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan starring the ever beautiful Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan is one of them. The film, which released last Friday – September 9, also features Ali Zafar. As far as I know, Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan showed up on three different programmes on Sony entertainment channel.

All the three shows were reality shows – the singing reality show X Factor, the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati and Comedy Circus.

Katrina Kaif, Imran Khan along with Ali Zafar – all three were on the singing reality show X Factor. They showed up on the day of the grand finale. Their presence was just a presence so to say on the show as it did not draw enough attention as was expected from stars like Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan.

The situation was more or less the same with  – the comedy reality show. An actress like Katrina who herself has worked in many hit comic films gave poor comments. However, Kaun Banega Crorepati proved to be the most interesting of them all. The two stars showed a glimpse of their scenes from the film right on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
