Australia Coach Asks Shane Watson And James Pattinson To Sit Out

In one of the most dramatic decisions in Cricket Australia (CA), coach Mickey Arthur ask taken a brave decision of not picking four players for the third Test that is scheduled to start from Thursday in Mohali. The players are Shane Watson and James Pattinson who were a part of both the first two Test matches that Australia lost to India.

However, the other two players never played an international match on the tour so far – fast bowler Mitchell Johnson and batsman Usman Khawaja. The decision has been taken after these players failed to give their inputs on how the

team can improve for the third Test match. This decision is no less than a bombshell in the history of CA.

These players will be however, available for the fourth Test.

According to the coach it was a breach of the team discipline. They had failed to take part in the peer review that was expected of them. They were supposed to discuss the below level performance of their side against India so far. The Australian team has already lost two Test matches on the

trot and is in danger of surrendering the Border Gavaskar Trophy to India.

The absence of players like Shane Watson and James Pattinson is indeed going to hurt Australia. James Pattinson had been impressive as a fast bowler whereas his fast bowling mates had failed to perform. Mitchell Johnson too is a world-class bowler and he too will not be available for the third Test, which means more bowling worries for Australia.

The cracks grew more in the Aussie side when Shane Watson took a decision of leaving India immediately. That has certainly rocked the Australian boat to the core as he is the vice captain of the team. No one really knows what the real reason for Watson to leave the team was. He however has said that he wants to be with his pregnant wife.
